This blog is dedicated to promoting ideas and resources for doing the most good and the least harm to ourselves, other people, animals and the environment. I call this principle MOGO, short for most good, and I welcome your comments and suggestions for how we can create a world in which the MOGO principle guides all people, governments, and businesses.

I had the opportunity to analyze the media's role in world situations first hand while I was working for the media. At that time I came to understand many "simple complexities" of the media. I came to understand not only how information gets into the media, but how the media affects the thoughts and behavior patterns of masses of people. And then I discovered one simple truth: People like you have the power to bypass and undo all of the damage done by the media by ignoring it altogether.

Concentrate your time and energy on teaching children how to make productive decisions, to understand how the media affects their behavior so they are no longer affected by it and begin to make productive decisions based on compassion, empathy and well educated understanding -- instead of making decisions based on thoughts created by the media.
